BLUE MOON
電影 "Manhattan Melodrama 俠友" 已經面世, 但歌曲仍在美高梅影片公司手中, 以營商之道, 決定將歌曲錄音發行, 但是, 由於唱片公司認為原作品開始時的一段引子, 與曲調格格不入, 要把它删掉。最後, 撰詞的 Lorenz Hart 和作曲 Richard Rodgers 被唱片公司説服, 以副歌取代全曲, 但曲名仍以 "Blue Moon" 面世。
1934年十二月首張唱片錄音面世, 由大型樂隊 "Glen Gray & The Casa Loma Orchestra" 與男歌手 Kenneth Sargent 演繹, 這就是至今天, 大多數樂迷所認識的副歌而已。

原曲被放棄的引子歌詞, 確令人沮喪、消沉和憂鬱, 與主曲歌詞亦談不上押韻, 祗不過是 Lorenz Hart 一篇最簡單平庸, 和最真摯的作品而已。這段原作品幾乎被樂壇遺忘, 但仍有蒼海遺珠, 1935年, 首張以原創曲詞, 亦是稀有的錄音版本, 出自一位生於維也納的歌廳女藝人 Greta Keller 的演繹; 當年, 德國女歌手瑪蓮德列治 Marlene Dietrich 在表演舞台上衹是任 Keller 的副手, 而成名後的 Dietrich, 她演唱時呼吸和咬字不清的獨特唱腔, 亦是模仿自 Greta Keller 這種唱腔, 至今在樂壇仍是難忘的演繹。
