John Pond Ordway (1824-1880)
生於美國, 馬薩諸塞州 Massachusetts, 他是一位醫生, 作曲家, 政治和企業家。1859年畢業於 Harvard Medical College, 亦是第一批自願参予內戰的外科醫生, 棣屬馬薩諸塞州的志願兵團, 被委任到 Gettysburg 戰役的外科醫生之一。
1859年至1873年, 他出任 Boston's School Board 波士頓的學校董事會。 1868年在任期間, 一次於 Massachusetts General Court, 他提出法案, 動議反對學校對學生施以體罰。

《旅愁フォレスタ Ryoshu》
"犬童球渓" ( いんどう きゅうけい Indou Kyukei ), 一位生於日本熊本縣的著名音樂學者, 1904年, 把此曲填上日文歌詞, 給以曲名 《旅愁 フォレスタ Ryoshu》。至1907年, 此曲於當地的音樂教材發表與出版, 至今在日本各地仍是家喻戶曉的歌曲。
