THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS 1965年, 這歌曲未被唱片公司重視, 祇安排在唱片的 B面, 甚至此曲的創作人名字亦没有出現, 而唱片 A面留給 Gerry Goffin 與 Carole King 的作品 "Hung On You" 為主打歌曲, 但各電台的 DJ 大多冷落了A面歌曲, 祇播放B面的"Unchained Melody", 使監製 Phil Spector 尴尬而大發雷霆: "你們究竟有没有分清楚 A面與 B面啊?"

1955 Movie: UNCHAINED 牢獄梟雄
作曲家 Alex North 與作詞家 Hy Zaret 被邀為電影 "Unchained" 港譯 "牢獄梟雄" 配樂, 故事環繞影片的主角, 一個囚犯因渴望與妻子及家庭團敍, 時常在冥思苦想的難以抉擇, 要待在獄中至被釋放的一天, 或决心越獄, 去過一生要逃亡的日子呢? 當年原曲被提名 "奥斯加最佳電影歌曲", 並由片中男主角 Todd Duncan (1903-1998)主唱, 他原是歌劇的男中音, 當然輕而易舉, 最後給 "Love Is a Many Splendore Thing" 港譯 "生死戀" 奪獎而去!
