五十年代的美國民謠, 1954年十月二十七日, 在 "美國廣播公司 ABC" 首播的電視節目, 和路迪士尼 Walt Disney 電視片集 "邊疆荒野之王 Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier", 背景的主題歌曲由合唱樂隊 "The Mellomen" 演繹之後, 歌聲聞遍各社區。

作曲 George Bruns, 撰詞 Thomas W. Blackburn, 片集主角 Fess Parker 飾演 Davy Crockett, 他身穿皮製的土著衣服, 頭戴浣熊毛皮帽, 坐在小木屋前高吭一曲之後, 很快成了家傳户曉的民謠歌曲, 由於歌詞是描繪郊野森林, 青山綠水和當年政府執行的政策, 令不少年青人對歴史的關注, 此曲成了他們的營火會歌曲; Davy Crockett 的衣着和浣熊毛皮帽成了他的標誌, 亦是青年人的帽飾時尚; 在片集中, 他四出遊闖所划乘的獨木舟, 在迪士尼主題公園的項目 "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer 頑童歴險記" 亦有出現。
