"I'm Always Chasing Rainbows" 我總是追逐彩虹
一首舞台音樂喜劇歌曲, 作詞 Joseph McCarthy, 撰譜編曲 Harry Carroll, 歌詞和樂譜先以音樂書藉出版, 1917年面世; 翌年三月在 New York City 紐約市, Broadway 百老匯 Vanderbilt Theater 劇院, 由姊妹組合 The Dolly Sisters 和 Harry Fox 主演的音樂劇 "Oh, Look!", 歌曲在舞台首次面世。

及後, 唱片由 Columbia Records 哥倫比亞唱片印製, 1918年四月十六日面世, 主唱亦交由 Harry Fox 演繹, 並收錄在他的單曲細唱片, 由於歌曲錄音的時間長度所限, 歌詞亦衹取原曲的第一節和副歌而已, 音樂劇的長版本看來是没有作唱片錄音; 還好, 被遺忘的第二節主歌如本文的藍色字歌詞, 在網絡的音樂平台仍有記載, 而視頻或聲頻的演譯就没法找到了。

"I'm Always Chasing Rainbows" 一曲面世至今, 翻唱版本有近百首, 主歌的第一節則少見被收錄, 大部份歌手演繹的版本衹取副歌而已, 這可能由於曲調較動聽吧, 不過, 這副歌樂曲是截錄自 Frédéric Chopin 蕭邦的作品 Fantaisie-Impromptu, Op. 66 是甚少樂迷知道的; 歌曲自1917年首次在音樂舞臺面世之後, 至於演出的  "The Dolly Sisters" 姊妹一生的經歴, 相信是更少人所認識了 ....
