Lionel Richie 和 Diana Ross 絕佳的演繹, 一篇愛情的宣言, 成為婚禮宴會的選曲之一, 被美國流行樂壇公認為有史以來最偉大的二重唱歌曲, 亦是前文所述 "Voice Crossing 交織叠聲" 之一的經典。

Lionel Richie 的作品, 由於當時他仍然是 R&B 組合 "The Commodores" 的主音歌手, 這首適合男女合唱的作品, 唯有與 Diana Ross 同演繹, 並收錄在 Diana 的單曲細唱片, B-面是同曲的純音樂, 則用作電影 "Endless Love"《無盡的愛》的配樂, 唱片1981年面世之後, 全球銷量令流行樂壇讚嘆, 令致 Lionel Richie 極有信心以個人在流行樂壇大展拳腳; 繼而, 在1982年離開 "The Commodores", 其主音位置由 Skyler Jett 接替。

ENDLESS LOVE 1981年六月面世之後, 有記錄的翻唱版本不多, 包括少有的獨唱在內共有四十三個, 七種語言和四十二個純音樂演繹, 合共九十多個版本在流行樂壇出現而已。Lionel Richie 的第二次演繹, 是三十年之後, 與 Shania Twain 的合唱版本, 2012年三月面世。

 

Lionel Richie 把1981年的獨唱範本錄音聲軌, 收錄在他的 2003年專輯内, 他亦承認個人獨唱是較難把此曲演繹, 與 "Voice Crossing 交織叠聲" 的男女合唱相比, 除了唱出愛情的共鳴之外, 更令歌曲每句之間的旋律更連貫和流暢。
