Jenny Lou Carson (1915-1978)
原名 Virginia Lucille Overstake, 歌唱演藝始於家鄉 Illinois 伊利諾伊州, 加入 "Salvation Army 救世軍" 担任街頭和電臺表演歌手。1931年, 首次在 Chicago 芝加哥 WLS 電台節目 "National Barn Dance" 演出之後, 與姐姐 Evelyn, 妹妹 Eva 組成 "Three Little Maids" 在每週六的晚間節目演出, 與及為同台的女子組合 "Girls of The Golden West" 創作歌曲。
1945年, 她一曲 "Jealous Heart" 成為鄉謠樂壇的寵兒, 繼而的作品 "You Two-Timed Me One Time Too Often" 由 "Tex Ritter and His Texans" 演繹, 成為第一位登上鄉謠榜首位的女創作歌手; 1945至1955年期間, 她的作品在鄉謠歌曲系列當中佔二十八首, 是最多產的創作女歌手之一。Jenny 自十九歲開始經歴過四段均不超過兩年的婚姻, 1949年最後的一次亦衹維持至1951年, 開始分居並回到 Texas 德薩斯州, 與母親一起居住, 繼續其創作歌手的工作。1971年, 榮登 "Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame 納殊維爾作曲名人殿堂"。1978年, 在加州 Los Angeles 洛杉磯離世, 享年六十三歲; 一生曾参予創作的歌曲共一百七十多首, 有一百八十多位歌手的唱片錄音, 其中一首曾經引起鄉謠樂壇注目和哄動 ...
"Let Me Go, Devil!"
歌曲是源於 Jenny 非常欽佩的鄉謠歌手 Hank Williams, 1953年一月去世之後, 他一生悲哀的經歴, 啓發了 Jenny 創作這首歌曲的靈感, 同年七月完成並交給 Wade Ray 演繹, 由 RCA Victor 唱片公司完成錄製唱片之後, 再分别交給 Decca, Columbia 和 Capitol 三間唱片公司, 由他們旗下的歌手 Georgie Shaw, Johnny Bond 與 Tex Ritter 演繹和錄製唱片, 之後與 Wade Ray 的唱片分别在1953年八月與九月面世; 一首由男歌手演繹, 為了擺脱賭、騙與酗酒而自怨和哀鳴的歌曲, 引起不少樂迷的共鳴, 不過, 在樂壇衹有這四位歌手的錄音版本而已, 由於 ....
