"CRYING IN THE RAIN" 雨 淚 相 交
Aldon Music 音樂出版公司, 1958年在 New York City 紐約市成立, 公司有多位合約制的歌曲創作人, 當中作曲的 Neil Sedaka 其成名歌曲 "Oh! Carol", "Calendar Girl", "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen" 和 "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" 同是由 Howard Greenfield 撰詞, 之外還有創作歌手 Carole King 與丈夫 Gerry Goffin, 1960年共同編撰, 亦是最為樂迷認識的 "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"。
1961年的一天, Howard Greenfield 與原來的作曲拍檔 Jack Keller 和另一組合 Gerry Goffin 和 Carole King 夫婦, 有共同的新構思, 以互換合作夥伴來試看歌曲作品能否帶出新變化。不過, 經重新組合的 Gerry Goffin 和 Jack Keller 卻沒有甚麽佳作可言, 而 Howard Greenfield 和 Carole King 合作的一曲 "Crying In The Rain" 則成為六十年代两位青年音樂人, 共同創作唯一最成功的歌曲。
"CRYIN' IN THE RAIN - Carole King - Demo Version
1961年十一月, Everly Brothers 被徵召加入 "United States Marine Corps Reserve 美國海軍陸戰隊後備部隊" 服兵役, 除了假期之外, 必須留在軍營生活和接受軍訓。第一次假期, 回到 Warner Bros. Records 唱片公司錄製歌曲, 唱片是十二月面世的 "Crying In The Rain", 及後在多次假期参加電視和不同音樂會演出; 1962年二月中的假期, 兩人身穿軍服, 在最受歡迎的 Ed Sullivan Show 亮相演唱兩曲, "Jezebel" 與及在假期錄製的 "Crying In The Rain", 此曲在 U.S. Billboard Hot 100 流行榜與及英國 UK Single Chart 單曲榜同登上第六位, 自此, 兄弟兩人要面對將來的歌唱風格和路線, 為此猶豫不定, 像似 "Crying in the rain 雨淚相交", 身處迷茫不清的路上。
