1963年六月, 英文版由 Jerry Leiber 和 Mike Stoller 撰寫, 以曲名 "I Who Have Nothing" 完成, 取用了 Joe Sentieri 原唱的音樂聲軌, 當然是給 Ben E. King (1938-2015) 演譯面世。其後有不同歌手翻唱, 這英文版亦曾出現在一齣1995年百老滙音樂劇 "Smokey Joe's Cafe", 該音樂劇亦是由 Leiber 和 Stoller 两人負責撰寫和編曲。

最為樂迷認識和印像尤深的, 就是1970年由 Tom Jones 的演譯, 令樂壇哄動一時, 並迅速登上 "Cashbox" 榜11位, 1970年秋季的 "Billboard Hot 100" 榜第14位。當年的 Tom Jones, 因為其扭動熊腰和激情豪放的台風, 惹來不少男女樂迷瘋狂追捧 ....... 原唱?

此曲的第一首(女版), 由 Shirley Bassey 演譯, 1963年九月面世後, 即登上同年的 UK Charts 第六位。之後, Bessey 的演唱會, 加上有 "倫敦交響樂團" 的助陣, "I Who Have Nothing" 是必選的歌曲之一。在意大利的電視台, 她曾經以意大利語演出此曲, 並安排即場文字翻譯給英語觀眾。1989年, 她的專輯 "La Mujer" (The Woman) 更以葡萄牙文演譯唱出 "Hoy No Tengo Nada" (Today, I have nothing) 。
