文獻有述, "Green-Sleeves" 樂曲是源自1602年 William Shakespeare 莎士比亞的舞台劇 "The Merry Wives of Windsor"。1865年, 一首聖誕頌歌 "What Child Is This?" 譜上了 "Green-Sleeves" 的樂曲面世之後, 至1968年, Elvis Presley 演繹的的流行歌曲 "Stay Away" 亦取同一曲調, 以不同年代的內容, 在流行樂壇面世。

美高梅電影公司 M-G-M 一齣現代西部喜劇電影, 香港譯名:"脂粉牛郎"; 片中插曲由男主角 Elvis Presley 演繹。故事取材自1953年的同名小說, 作者是 Dan Cushman。電影在1968年的 "Variety Weekly 綜藝周刊" 列全國電影票房榜, 第六十五位。
