1978年電影, 劇情是美國一個小鎮, 三個在鋼鐵廠工作的 "死黨好友", 参予越戰, 不幸同為戰俘, 被越共虐待, 强迫以 "Russian Roulette 俄羅斯輪盤" 方式的賭命遊戲。當中最震撼的一幕在 Saigon 西貢的地下賭檔內, 為了把創傷後遺症的同袍好友帶回家鄉, 要重演過去同樣的賭命遊戲, 最終 ....

"Cavatina"
是英國作曲家 Stanley Myers 1970年的鋼琴音樂作品, 由於結他大師 John Williams 的提議, Stanley Myers 把樂譜重新編曲, 改以木結他演繹用作電影 "The Walking Stick" 港譯 :《劫寶情魔》的配樂, 唱片面世成為當年的 "Easy Listening 舒暢音樂" 之一。
"She Was Beautiful"
1976年, Cleo Laine 把樂譜撰上歌詞, 完成一曲 "He Was Beautiful", 以感性的聲調加上 John Williams 的木结他伴奏仍不被樂迷追捧; 直至1978年, "Cavatina" 由電影監製 Michael Deeley 以一筆未公開的金額取得版權, 成為 "The Deer Hunter"《獵鹿者》的配樂, 改名以 "Theme From the Deer Hunter" 面世, 同年再由英國樂隊 "The Shadows" 的結他手 Hank Marvin 以電結他演繹, 唱片面世之後即登上英國與荷蘭 (Nederlands 里德蘭) 的流行歌曲細碟榜, 自此, Cleo Laine 撰詞和演繹的一曲 "He Was Beautiful" 才再引起樂迷的關注, 翻唱版本有三十多個。
"Theme From the Deer Hunter"
原名 "Cavatina", 有記錄的音樂版本達一百四十多個, 樂譜經撰上不同歌詞的作品有1979年 Van Hill 的歌曲 "When You Walk Through Life" 與 2015年 Helmut Lotti 的 "Sweet Love of Mine"。1979年, 香港歌手林子祥演繹由鄭國江撰詞的中詞西曲 "原野是我家", 與及 2004年, 前藝名 "黃浩詩 Janelle Wong" 的香港舒情爵士樂女歌手 Susan Wong 黃翠珊, 演繹的 "Cavatina" 同樣成為香港樂迷喜愛的版本。
