1962年意大利製作的獵奇電影, 一系列世界各地探索所瞥見的奇人異事, 以萬花筒形式的駭人鏡頭, 衝擊着當年西方電影的文化與觀眾的趣味。
此片在歐洲影壇的讚譽甚佳與及在参展獲獎, 特别是它在不同故事畫面的配樂, 其中一首 "Ti guarderò nel cuore" - Theme from Mondo Cane 曾提名1963年 "奧斯卡最佳原創音樂獎", 但是給 "Papa's Delicate Condition 爸爸萬歲" 由 Frank Sinatra 演譯的一曲 "Call Me Irresponsible" 奪得。

該片於1963年在香港上映, 當年的尺度來說可列為今天的 III 級電影, 相信有些鏡頭亦難逃當年電檢處的剪刀; 而多數觀眾被電影的駭人鏡頭吸引, 並沒有特别留意全部的配樂; 亦有不少樂迷因沒有觀看過這類的電影, 所以從未想像過這影片其中的背景音樂之一, 就是撰上美妙歌詞之後, 成了一首由 Andy Williams 演譯的經典金曲 "M O R E"
