"Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree"

1973年, Tony Orlando & Dawn 組合演譯的歌曲, 是樂隊自1970年, 繼一曲 "Knock Three Times" 之後, 在流行樂壇另一首膾炙人口的經典。唱片面世後一個月, 在十個國家的樂壇流行榜列十大歌曲之一; 至2008年, 美國 "U.S. Billboard Hot 100" 五十週年紀念, 公佈它被列入美國最熱門一百首歌曲榜的三十七位。

撰曲的 L. Russell Brown 和作詞人 Irwin Levine 同稱, 歌曲的啓發是來自1972年一月份的 "讀者文摘 Reader's Digest", 當中一篇名為 "Going Home" 的故事, 而原文有引述, 它的内容是源自1971年十月十四日, 刋登在 "紐約報 New York Post" 一篇專欄作品 "The Eight Million" :

"一輛從紐約駛往 Fort Lauerdale 的公共汔車, 途中有幾個少年跟一名男子攀談起來, 他告知剛完成三年囚獄而返回家鄉。被囚之前, 曾勸告妻子不用等他回來, 着她可重新過自己的生活; 因此, 在囚幾年來從沒有接過妻子的來信, 而給妻子唯一的信, 就是這個黄絲帶的故事 ..."
