"GREENSLEEVES"《綠 袖 子》
民謠歌曲歴史的學者, 對這首十六世紀英國民謠的考究, 多數從圖書館查閱一些文獻作理解和分析, 摘錄成文書, 讓人們更加認識樂曲的歴史和文化; 至於以聲頻收錄的版本, 樂迷衹能夠從唱片認識之外, 亦可在現今的網上音樂資訊平台去查看。六十年代歐美的民歌熱潮, 對香港一些民歌手或樂隊組合, 此曲是結他的入門, 又是必唱的作品之一。

The Library of Congress 美國國會圖書館設立的 "Packard Campus for Audio Visual Conservation"
視聽教學保存系列: "National Jukebox 國家點唱機", 有記錄 "Greensleeves" 最早的唱片錄音是1915年五月, 由 Victor Talking Machine Company 錄製, 收錄在一張有四首歌曲的唱片, 編號: 17724-B面。

1929 - "Sir John in Love"
英國作曲家 Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) 的舞台音樂劇作品, 以莎士比亞 "The Merry Wives of Windsor" 的故事為藍本, 而音樂則選自英國不同的民謠樂曲, 當中有一首由 Williams 新編的樂曲, 原名字 "The Fat Knight", 但及後仍取回原曲 "Green-Sleeves" 的名字。1929年三月十一日, 舞台劇 "Sir John in Love" 於英國倫敦 Royal College of Music 校內的劇院 Parry Opera Theatre 作首演。

1946 - "Fantasia on Greensleeves"
作曲家 Ralph Greaves (1889-1966) 把 "Green-Sleeves" 這首音樂重新編曲, 於1946年四月九日, 經十七年之後, 這劇本 "Sir John in Love" 再次亮相舞台, 正式在倫敦 Sadler's Wells Theatre 作公開演出。這亦是 Ralph Vaughan Williams 最有名的管弦樂作品 "Fantasia on Greensleeves"《綠袖子幻想曲》。
此樂曲最早有聲頻錄音是1915年 Victor Records 標誌的音樂唱片, 之後, 首次由歌手演繹的版本, 有1947年 Susan Reed 和後來 1949年 Richard Dyer-Bennet 的錄音, 可惜沒法找到這兩張唱片的錄音記載; 繼而的歌唱演繹版本有 1950年 ....
