六十年代的流行曲經典, 是香港的家裡 "Party 派對" 年代, 不可或缺的舞會歌曲之一。今天的老樂迷再聴聞此曲便會脚動身摇, 特別是香港一些歌迷更會一聲大叫 : "郁親手就聽打 !" 後來, 更被改成 "筲箕灣 ....

"Johnny Kidd & The Pirates"
來自英國的前衞搖滾樂隊, 是六十年代强烈節奏先軀, 在樂壇還早於 "The Beatles" 負笈盛名。他們在舞台演出的作風, 對後來不少樂隊影响深遠, 最顯而易見就是在 "Alice Cooper" 的戲劇面容化裝術, 和樂隊 "The Who" 的舞台表演風格。
Johnny Kidd 1935-1966
1957年組成第一支樂隊 "Five Nutters"; 翌年, 與結他手 Alan Caddy, Joe Moretti, 低音結他手 Brian Gregg, 鼓手 Clem Cattini 以一新面目組成 "Johnny Kidd & the Pirates" 並自創形像, 戴上單眼蓋掩, 如樂隊名字以獨眼 "海盜" 的面目示人; 自此, 樂迷難再睹 Johnny Kidd 的真面目。
"Shakin' All Over"
1959年, 加入 EMI 唱片公司錄音工作, 首次錄音"Please Don't Touch"。1960年五月錄製的單曲唱片, 監製把原來放在 A-面的 "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" 和 B-面的 "Shakin' all Over" 互掉成唱片 A-面主打歌曲; 最後, 此曲亦不負眾望, 在英國大受歡迎之外, 而美國的搖滾樂界, 亦難以相信此曲是出自英國的樂隊。

在錄音之前, Johnny Kidd 一位朋友以錄音機的磁帶運轉模式, 自製英國第一部有舞台迴響聲效的裝置, 給予 Johnny 一試, 之後卻引致他第一時間從 WEM-Watkins Electric Music 購入該公司製造的第一部手提迴音器 "Watkins Copicats", 後來 "The Shadows" 的結他手 Hank Marvin 不甘後人, 亦以這音效設備, 用於他們的結他音樂上; 當年的樂迷, 包括你和我, 除了他們的音樂之外, 不少是受了這結他迴聲音效而着了迷 !

1966年十月七日, Johnny Kidd 在英倫 Lancashire 蘭開夏郡一次汔車意外身亡, 當時車上乘客有 Johnny, 低音結他手 Nick Simper, 駕車的 Peter Metcalfe 和他的十七歲女友, 四人之中Johnny 和該少女不幸身亡, Peter Metcalfe 和 Nick Simper 則幸免於車禍。Johnny Kidd 遺體送回倫敦以火葬儀式, 骨灰安放在出生地, 倫敦北部的 Willesden 威爾斯登市, 終年三十歲。
