"This Diamond Ring"
1960年, Al Kooper 十六歲加入 Bob Brass 和 Irwin Levine 的創作團隊; 至1964年, 三人合作撰寫一首歌曲, 完成後亦有意交由 "The Drifters" 錄音, 但是給他們推掉了。最後, 再交給 "Sammy Ambrose & The Afro-Beats" 作首次錄音, 而 Sammy 亦答應了作曲的三人原來所定, 以 "騷靈 Soul" 格調來演譯, 唱片於同年十二月面世。

一曲 "This Diamond Ring", 由美國 Musicor 公司印製發行, 面世後卻不被美國樂迷歡迎。相反, 在英國北部, Scotland 蘇格蘭和 Wales 威爾斯, 一些被社區稱為 "Mod 流氓" 所喜愛, 他們對這類重節奏黑人 "騷靈 Soul" 音樂, 從不理會歌手或樂隊的名氣, 並以自訂 "Northern Soul" 的品牌印製; 如當年美國黑人音樂品牌 "Tamla Motown"。今天, 英國以北的地方, "Northern Soul" 這品牌的唱片仍被擁躉 "Mod 流氓" 一族的歡迎。

"Sammy Ambrose & Friends"1969年重組樂隊 "Sammy Ambros & Friends", 完成最後一次錄製唱片。1970年初, Sammy 返回 Florida 佛羅里達州 Miami 邁阿密, 在一間名叫 "Place Pigalle" 的娛樂場所, 任 "Limbo 蓮步舞" 表演音樂手, 之後再沒有任何唱片錄製; 在樂壇顛簸多年, 他開始意志消沉, 染上毒癮至無心工作, 卻以販毒為生。有一個越戰退伍軍人的癮君子, 因為注射過量毒品而暴斃, 最後被查出毒品是購自 Sammy Ambrose。
1976年十月十二曰, 他被控三級謀殺, 罪成入獄。1988年二月二十六曰死於佛羅里達州 Florida, Dade County 監獄, 終年四十八歲。"This Diamond Ring" 不能使 Sammy Ambrose 的歌唱事業更進一步, 最終還要步向牢獄至身亡的結局。相反, 樂壇有此曲的另一版本相繼出現, 使一支新晋樂隊冒起, 和另類的音樂 "Baroque Pop/Rock" 成了一番熱潮。
