"TILL THERE WAS YOU"
是收錄在 The Beatles 的專輯唱片"With The Beatles"的歌曲之一, 1963年十一月在英國面世; 翌年一月, 專輯的曲目經删改後, 並改名 "Meet The Beatles" 在美國面世發售。在當年的音樂潮流, "Till There Was You" 是有史以來由一隊英國搖滾樂手, 以拉丁節奏演譯的歌曲。

據傳, 有一次 Paul McCartney 的表姐 Betty Robbins 到訪, 帶來一張 Peggy Lee 1958年演譯這歌曲的唱片給 Paul 試聽, 又提議他們的樂隊一試演譯。1962年, The Beatles 開始在德國漢堡 Hamburg 一間夜場會所 "Star Club" 的演唱工作, "Till There Was You" 成了他們每晚必演唱的歌曲之一。

早於1962年一月, The Beatles 曾把此曲帶到倫敦的 Decca Records 唱片公司試音, 但不被公司採用; 自此, 他們祇好把它繼續留在 "Star Club" 演唱而已。1963年, 得到 Parlophone 公司接納, 安排在英國的 EMI 倫敦錄音室錄製, 專輯 "With The Beatles" 完成後, 同年十一月面世, 當中的 "Till There Was You" 以另類節奏演譯, 引起業界關注和被受樂迷歡迎。

拉 丁 節 奏
Paul McCartney 篇曲時, 由鼓手 Ringo Starr 以拉丁鼓 Bongos 取代了原用的摇滾樂鼓套, 跟隨着 Peggy Lee 以慢板 "Rumba 倫巴" 節奏演譯。當年, 以一隊英國傳統搖滾樂隊, 大胆放棄一直以來的風格, 給樂迷意外和驚訝, 唱片銷量可觀, 成績斐然。四個月後, 另一張專輯唱片 "Please Please Me" 亦完成錄製, 這次 Parlophone 唱片公司把握良機, 迅速把它面世發售。這亦是 The Beatles 的第二張全部歌曲在錄音室錄製的專輯唱片。
