SLEEP WALK - 夢 遊
六十年代初, 香港樂壇踏入 Rock n' Roll 的潮流, 年青樂迷, 三五知音, 自組樂隊, 在䆥裡練歌夾 Band, 聲響遍及各社區, 一些媒界主辦如 "Talent Time", "Talent Quest" 的音樂比賽, 給香港流行樂壇發掘不少歌手和樂隊; 他們的結他彈奏除了自學之外, 多數以歐美樂隊如 The Shadows, The Ventures 等為入門和仿效的對像。
六、七十年代, 我輩在一些舞會派對當中, 一首純音樂作品, 由幾粒結他聲音響起, 加上明快的節拍, 正好給舞會中的少男, 有輕嘗慢舞和一近芳澤的時刻。當年大多數樂迷均誤以為這是 The Ventures 或 The Shadows 的作品之一 .... SLEEP WALK
Santo & Johnny Farina
同生於紐約 New York, 布鲁克林 Brooklyn; Santo 生於1937年, Johnny 1941年。童年時期, 父親被徵召入兵役, 期間在軍中的收音機聽過不少音樂, 特別喜愛 Steel Guitar 鋼線結他音樂, 因此曾寫信回家告知妻子: "很想讓我兩個孩子學習 Steel Guitar 鋼線結他這個樂器"。
二戰完畢, 父親返回䆥裡, 找來音樂老師, 特別是教導孩子結他和 Steel Guitar 鋼線結他彈奏。兄弟兩人長大後, 組成樂隊, 在教堂、舞會、婚禮宴會和俱樂部表演彈奏; 由此, 在他們所居地的布魯克林 Brooklyn 至長島 Long Island 均有不少樂迷。
SLEEP WALK
1959年, Santo & Johnny 兄弟兩人的結他音樂作品, 以鋼線電結他 Steel Guitar 演譯, 加上叔父 Mike Dee 的鼓樂合奏而完成唱片錄音, 同年六月面世, 兩個星期後, 已登上流行榜首位置; 及後, 更獲得金唱片奬項。
唱片面世翌年, 已經給俱名氣的 Chet Atkins, The Ventures, The Shadows, Fausto Pepetti 等樂手或組合重新演譯; 可惜, 兄弟兩人再沒有其他佳作繼而出現, 這可能令樂迷很快把 Farina 兄弟忘卻的原因吧。

Santo & Johnny 的結他音樂版本面世後, 同年八月, 作詞家 Don Wolf 把它撰上歌詞, 交由 Betsy Brye 作首次演譯。及後, 純音樂演譯較多, 而撰上歌詞後演譯的版本卻寥寥可數, 所以樂迷對此曲亦沒有特別留意。至今, 除了有同名不同曲的作品之外, Sleep Walk 此曲以各型式的音樂演譯, 有記錄的共達七十多個版本。
