"THE SOUND OF MUSIC" - The Trapp Family
1938年, Adolf Hitler 希特拉吞併 Austria 奧地利, Salzburg 薩爾茲堡一個在歌唱界具名氣的大家庭, 為了逃離納粹德國, 寧願放棄一切, 舉家前往 Italy 意大利; 幾個月後抵達 Nederland 荷蘭, 輾轉從英國 London 倫敦來到美國, 1939年獲得移民簽証, 全家以四出巡迴演唱來維持生活。1949年, 一本由第三女兒 Maria von Trapp 撰寫的自傳 "The Story of the Trapp Family Singers" 面世。
1959年, 撰詞家 Oscar Hammerstein II 與作曲家 Richard Rodgers 把這本作品改編成舞台音樂劇, 並邀請 Patti Page 把主題歌曲演譯, 由 Mercury Records 錄製唱片, 在音樂劇公演前作推廣。

及後, Patti Page 亦曾經在電視綜藝節目 "The Patti Page Oldsmobile Show" 作現場演唱這一曲。1959年, "The Sound of Music" 在紐約百老滙首演, 九個月後, Oscar Hammerstein II (1895-1960) 因患上癌病去世, 這齣音樂劇成為他最後的遺作。1965年拍製成經典電影, 港譯「仙樂飄飄處處聞」, 同名主題歌曲由女主角 Julie Andrews 在電影中演繹, 她的光芒掩蓋了 Patti Page 的原唱版本, 至今, 相信祗有少數樂迷聽過吧 !

MICHEL LEGRAND
2010年三月二十七日, 樂壇業界在紐約 MGM Grand Garden Arena 美高梅音樂廳, 祝賀法國名作曲家 Michel Legrand 参予電影音樂創作五十週年音樂會, Patti Page 八十三歲高齢, 在台上獻唱 Legrand 1979年的作品, 電影: "Picasso Summer 畢加索與我" 主題歌曲 "Summer Me, Winter Me", 其間她忘記了一些歌詞; 至2012年九月的一次公開活動之後, 在她的個人網頁宣佈, 因健康理由, 正式退出樂壇。
2013年一月一日, Patti Page 因心肺功能日漸衰退, 在加州 Encinitas 的療養院期間離世, 享年八十五歲, 在 San Diego 聖迭戈 El Camino Memorial Park 墓園安息。
她的個人生活, 在此不再作引述, 由她的歌唱事業開始, 經典歌曲和所得的獎項甚多, 自五十年代初出道, 能登上流行榜, 令樂迷難忘的歌曲當中, 不少是跟我輩一起成長的經典。
