Singing this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die

AMERICAN PIE -
Annotation Verse 6:6

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away

I met a girl .... JANIS JOPLIN
"騷靈歌后 Queen of Soul" 1970年十月四日因服用過量"海洛英" 而暴斃家中, 她的一曲 " Me and Bobby McGee " 令 Don McLean 對她極為賞識。

ME AND BOBBY McGEE

I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before
But the man there said the music wouldn't play

"Sacred Store" 指由 Bill Graham 開設於 Fillmore West 的唱片店, 是搖滾樂迷著名的聚集地方, 該店聲稱: " 再沒有人對往日的音樂感興趣了! "

And in the streets the children screamed
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed
But not a word was spoken
The church bells all were broken

FLOWER CHILDREN

FLOWER CHILDREN . .
"SAN FRANCISCO" Scott McKenzie :
" If you going to San Francisco, be sure you wear some flowers in your hair "

And the three men I admire most
the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died
And they were singing .
. .

聖父、聖子、聖靈、相對  Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper - Jiles Perry Richardson, Richie Valens  或比喻 John Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy ? . .

Bye-bye, Miss American Pie
Drove my chevy to the levee
But the levee was dry
And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die

EPILOGUE 结語 . . .

THE SOUND OF SILENCE
Hello darkness, my old friend, I've come with talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping, left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain, still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone, narrow streets of cobblestone
Neath the halo of a streetlamp, I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light, split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw, ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking, people hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared, and no one dared
To stir the sound of silence

Fool, said I, you do not know, silence, like a cancer, grows
Hear my words and I might teach you, take my arms then I might reach you
But my words, like silent raindrops fell, and echoed in the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed to the neon god they'd made
And the sign flashed out its warning in the words that it was forming
And the sign said the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls, and whispered in the sounds of silence
