一生煙酒不離, 傳是雙性人的 Jimmy Scott, 其貌不揚, 事業非成功, 卻甚得女士歡心, 一生有五次婚姻。二十歲娶了十六歲, 暱稱"Angel 安琪兒"的 Ophelia Sharon, 及後是 Cleveland 克利夫蘭首位黑人女髮型師 Channie Booker, 第三位 Ruth Taylor 和第四位 Earlene Rodgers。每次離婚後, 仍負起各前妻的生活; 2003年娶了 Jeanie McCarthy Scott 為最後一任妻子。

踏入八十年代, 有樂壇記者和電台唱片騎師發現 Jimmy Scott 曾現身一些低級夜總會、歌廰賣藝獻唱; 此消息公開後, 引起 "Save The Last Dance For Me" 的撰詞家 Doc Pomus 的關注, 想起這位失去聯絡已久的朋友, 他馬上去信 Billboard Magazine 的編輯, 提議把一些久未露面的業界精英, 不少是生活拮据, 潦倒一生的樂壇先軀, 在雜誌用文章介紹, 讓樂迷認識他們在樂壇的貢獻, 叫人們惦記像 Jimmy Scott 這樣的歌手, 在人生困境, 掙扎求存之時, 直得人們尊崇、嘉許和關愛。

認識 Jimmy Scott 近四十年, 由幾首他的藍調歌曲 "Dearest Darling", "Hand Across Table", "My Mother's eyes" 成了他的樂迷和好友。當年代, 黑人歌曲多不被重視, Jimmy 在歌唱業途顛簸而行, 除了天生不幸之外, 社會和業界的風氣, 使他幾乎消聲匿跡。有關他的個人資料和經歴, 請向 Quincy Jones, Steve Wonder, Frankie Valli 和 Nancy Wilson 等多作了解和查詢。

1991年3月14日, Doc Pomus 不幸離世。

"Someone To Watch Over Me" George Gershwin (1898-1937) 撰曲, 作詞是兄長 Ira Gershwin (1896-1983), 原曲是出自1926年一齣百老匯音樂㓺 "Oh, Kay!", 撰曲時 George 屬意爵士樂曲調, 而哥哥提議以抒情歌曲來配合音樂劇的演出。至今, 此曲被改篇翻唱或音樂演奏的錄音版本達二百五十多個, 大多數以爵士樂的演譯, 而記錄在"Great American Songbook"的類别項目, 亦被列為"Jazz Standard 爵士樂"。
"Oh, Kay!" 於1926年, 由英國音樂劇女演員 Gertrude Lawrence (1898-1952) 在美國, 紐約百老匯首演, 完成二百三十多場之後, 1927年移師英國倫敦的 "West End", 繼而演出逹二百埸。
