THE LORD'S PRAYER【主禱文】
基督教最為信徒所熟悉的祈禱經文, 普遍就讀基督教會學校的小孩, 由參加安息日禮拜 "主日學 SUNDAY SCHOOL" 開始, 首要學習的就是【主禱文】或稱【天主經】。
【新約聖經】
英皇詹姆士 King James 御旨編譯的 "Great Bible", 1604年授權由英國大主教翻譯; 至1611年完成, 交御用印刷師 Robert Barker 印製。這是英國的第三版英文譯本聖經; 在 Luke 路德福音十一章, 二至四節, 記載十二門徒請求耶穌指導禱告的原文, 就是【天主經】:
2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
