The Everly Brothers 自1957年開始参加不同演唱會, 期間曾鼓勵多次同台的 Buddy Holly 換副時尚眼鏡, 樂隊 "The Crickets" 放棄 Tee 恤, 牛仔䃿, 改穿 "Ivy League 常春藤校園" 的服裝衣着以改形象; 由於 Buddy Holly 樂意接受而寫了一曲 "Wishing" 送給 Everly Brothers 以謝關心和提點, 後來有傳被 Cadence Records 公司的監製阻撓而放棄演繹。最後 Buddy Holly 衹好親自演繹和錄製唱片, 雖然如此, 仍然無阻與 Everly 兄弟結為好友。

1958年, Buddy Holly 接受 "The Big Gold Record Stars" 演唱會主辦方, 一份四千美元的合約和條件, 包括交通運輸、旅費和酒店住宿, 前往 Florida 佛羅里達州, 分別在六個地方, 每晚演出兩場, Buddy Holly 和他的樂隊 "The Crickets" 之外, Buddy 還邀請了 Everly Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley & His Comets 與及 Royal Teens 同参予演出。

WARNER BROTHERS RECORDS
Warner Brothers Records 華納兄弟唱片公司成立才兩年, 在唱片市場剛起步, 旗下較有名氣的歌手寥寥可數, 很快便看中在樂壇冒起的 Everly Brothers, 1960年, 給兄弟两人簽下一張長達十年, 價值幾百萬美元的唱片錄音合約。
"CATHY'S CLOWN"
Cadence Records 公司面對華納兄弟巨人, 無法把 Everly Brothers 留下來, 唯有讓兩人離開。加入 Warner Brothers Records 華納兄弟唱片公司之後, 首張單曲細唱片同年四月面世, A-面 "Cathy's Clown", B-面是 Boudleaux Bryant 夫婦的作品 "Always It's You"。
Everly 兄弟的作品 "Cathy's Clown", 創作靈感是源自 Don 的前度女友, 其生活圈子一則閒言戲語:「女子抛棄舊愛, 造謠汙蔑男友是甘於被操弄, 惡劣對待仍懦怯發聲的小男人, 被朋輩虐稱為 "Cathy's Clown 嘉菲的小丑"」
聲 名 大 噪
六十年代的搖滾潮流, 一首美國歌曲打進英國 "UK Single Chart" 榜首, 同時亦登上 U.S. Billboard Hot 100、鄉謠榜和藍調節榜首。"Cathy's Clown" 的非傳統編撰結構, 以副歌(Chrous)取代了歌曲的主歌詞(Verse), 又把原來的 "Bridge 過門" 音樂加上歌詞, 這引起樂壇注目之外, 更成為往後流行歌曲的另一風格, 被視為六十年代流行歌曲代表作而聲名大噪, 至今天的銷量記錄達八百萬張, 亦是 Everly 兄弟的音樂職業生涯最暢銷的單曲, 對流行音樂具長遠的影響力, 並獲得世界流行樂壇嘉許。2004年, 更被美國 "Rolling Stone 滾石雜誌" 編訂為 "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time 歴來最偉大五百首歌曲" 名列第一百四十九位; 至2013年, 亦被編錄在 "The National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress 美國國會圖書館的國家錄音登記册"。

"When Will I Be Loved"
1960年, Don Everly 的作品 "Cathy's Clown" 面世之後, 另一首由弟弟 Phil 自己執筆, 描繪在結婚前與女友 Jackie Bleyer 在愛情路上的回憶, 兄弟兩人雖然已離開 Cadence Records 公司, Phil 仍交回給舊東家印製發行, 唱片同年五月面世後, 即登上 U.S. Billboard Hot 100 流行榜第八位。1963年, Phil 與 Jackie 步入教堂; 1964年, Cadence Records 宣告結束, 公司大部份唱片的錄音聲軌亦一起賣掉。Linda Ronstadt 1975年翻唱 "When Will I Be Loved" 的版本亦登 U.S. Billboard Hot 100 榜上更高的第二位。
