一齣1933年電影 "Going Hollywood" 港譯:《影都艷史》, Bing Crosby 在影片中演繹的歌曲 "TEMPTATION", 作曲
Nacio Herb Brown, 撰詞 Arthur Freed。1945年, Bing Crosby 重新錄音, 唱片監製是時年衹有二十七歲, 亦是1954年接任成為 Acuff-Rose Music 公司總裁的 Wesley Rose。

早 生 事 端
1960年 Everly Brothers 不理 Wesley Rose 的勸導, 决意離開 Cadence Records, 轉投 Warner Bros. Record 華納唱片公司。一年後又不動聲色錄製這首三十年代的 "Temptation", 雖然此曲並非來自 Acuff-Rose Music 公司的作品, 衹不過曾經由 Wesley Rose 監製, 公司既不能獲得版稅, 又不能制止他們去錄製, 而兄弟兩人仍然是 Acuff-Rose Music 的合約創作歌手, 所有由公司成員編撰的歌曲, 包括 Boudleaux Bryant 夫婦撰寫的歌曲, 甚至 Everly 兄弟自己撰寫的歌曲, 全由 Wesley Rose 安排人選才可錄製唱片。這次 Everly 兄弟没有徵詢公司意見而私下錄製這歌曲, 令致 Wesley Rose 更為後悔給予兄弟兩人提拔與栽培。最後經妥協, Everly 兄弟繼續留在 Acuff-Rose Music 任創作歌手成員。TEMPTATION" - The Everly Brothers - 1961

"TEMPTATION"
1945年, Bing Crosby 這首纏綿動人聽來舒暢的情歌, 卻被 Everly 兄弟為了順應搖滾潮流而演繹的版本"Temptation", 聽過之後才明白 Wesley Rose 憤怒的原因。不過, 唱片在1961年五月面世之後, 亦能夠登上 U.S. Billboard Hot 100 流行榜第二十七位, 與及英國 UK Single Chart 單曲榜首, 這是否標誌着 "British Invasion 英倫入侵" 的開始, Everly Brothers 亦難抵這搖滾熱潮?
CADENCE RECORDS
Everly Brothers 初出道, 不被 Columbia Records 哥倫比亞唱片公司重用, 幸得 Chet Atkins 再把兄弟介紹和加入 Acuff-Rose Music 成為合約創作歌手成員, "Bye Bye Love" 算是免為其難給這對新人一試的歌曲, 之後更成為 Cadence Records 公司的合約歌手, 主要仍要演繹 Acuff-Rose Music 公司的歌曲作品而已, 自此之後, 兄弟两人的歌曲在流行樂壇令人注目。
1942年, Roy Acuff 和 Fred Rose 在 Tennessee 田納西州 Nashville 納殊維爾成立, 是美國鄉謠歌曲知名的音樂出版公司之一, 旗下的創作人和歌手不少。1954年, Fred Rose 去世, 由兒子 Wesley Rose 接任, 當時的合約創作歌手除了 Felice and Boudleaux Bryant 之外, 還有 Roy Orbison, Don Gibson, The Everly Brothers 等。
利 的 誘 惑
Everly 兄弟為避免 Acuff-Rose Music 操控他們的歌曲錄音和交付版權費, 两人以 Jimmy Howard 的歌曲創作人名字, 撰寫歌曲交給 Warner Bros. Record 華納公司, 再由兄弟两人錄製唱片, 這詭計最終被 Wesley Rose 發現, 被 Acuff-Rose Music 因版權而告上法庭, 結果 Everly Brothers 要經法律才能解决。
然而, 1961年, Everly Brothers 亦要創造自己的品牌 "Calliope Records", 其中由 Phil Everly, Glen Campbell 與及 Carole King 的三人組合 "Keestone Family Singers" 錄製單曲細唱片, A-面歌曲取自 The Kingston Trio 1958年的 "Raspberries, Strawberries" 改編成俏皮版的 "Cornbread And Chitlings", B-面歌曲 "Melodrama"; Don Everly 以 Adrian Kimberly 名字錄製 "Black Mountain Stomp" 和 "Pomp And Circumstance", 在一年多,這個品牌共印製五張細唱片之後, "Calliope Records" 從樂壇消聲匿跡, 唱片卻成了樂迷珍藏 !
