"HE'S GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS"
一首美國傳统福音心靈歌曲, 由非裔美國人 Edward Boatner (1898-1981) 撰寫, 他的作品多數是很受歡迎的黑人心靈歌曲。1927年, 此曲在 "Spirituals Triumphant, Old and New" 的讚美詩集當中首次發表, 有文字記載但沒有找到錄音的是1929年由 Rev. F.W.McGee 演譯的版本。
及後有不同的收藏家把它加以結集, 再把它錄製成教堂福音歌曲; 有保存的最早期錄音, 是由一位語言與音樂學者 Robert Sonkin 1941年在美國 Alabama 亞拉巴馬州 Boykin 這個貧窮黑人農奴地方, 一次教堂聚會錄音版本, 至今收藏在美國國會圖書館, 另外在 "Library's American Folklife Center" 亦有收藏同樣的版本錄音。
Frank Warner, 一位知名的民歌手, 又是民歌歷史作品收藏家, 他早於四十至五十年代曾把此曲帶入美國民歌領域, 可惜未能找到他的原版本錄音; 之後, 還有一些美國福音歌手和英國流行歌手翻唱。在一些不同聚會、場合或團體, 更以 "We've got the whole world in our hands" 為歌曲名字, 以各取所需的歌詞內容, 作為勵志和互勉的歌曲。

一位生於1944年一月十九日的英國少年 Laurie London 與樂隊 Deoff Love Orchestra 首次把這首教堂福音歌曲, 打進美國流行歌曲榜, 並登上榜首達四星期, 更成了五十年代美國流行樂壇, 一位來自英國最成功的男歌手之一。此曲錄製時 Laurie 祇有十三歲, 登上榜首時才十四歲另八十五天。在最年輕的 U.S. Billboard Chart 榜首歌星紀錄中,
Laurie London 是列第5位。
Laurie London 揚名於美國樂壇之後, 仍有錄製了不少歌曲, 但佳作衹寥寥可數, 最後的歌曲錄音是1963年翻唱 Cliff Richard 的歌曲 "Lucky Lips"。之後, 除了在一些公開場合露面, 十九歲開始退出樂壇。有道他在九十年代曾經營酒店, 及後移居倫敦北部, 在該地打理自己在 Portsmouth 的酒吧 "The Ship and Castle"。

曾在英超的 Nottingham Forest F.C. 諾定咸森林足球會, 在1978年二月公佈與當地的樂隊 "Paper Lace" 結合為球會樂隊, 更稱為 "Nottingham Forest Paper Lace" ( 樂隊受歡迎的歌曲有 "Billy Don't Be a Hero" 和 "The Night Chicago Died"), 當時樂隊剛有新唱片發售, 主打歌是A-面的 "We've Got the Whole World in Our Hands"。自此, 此曲成為英倫足球場上的受歡迎歌曲之一; 曾有幾次因諾定咸森林球會在赛事中落敗, 球迷把它改成 "We're the worst team in the League" 以這句自嘲的歌詞作一洩不忿。而諾定咸森林球會的擁躉, 更有全曲以不雅粗言向敵對球會恥笑的歌詞, 在此不便公開了 !WE'VE GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN OUR HANDS
