When we've been there ten thousand years,
bright shining as the sun;
We've no less days to sing God's praise
than when we first begun!
The Fairfield Four - Amazing Grace - 1946 version
"The Blind Boys of Alabama" 1950年的演譯, 很明顯他們把樂迷戲弄一番, 把 "Amazing Grace" 的歌詞套用在 "The House of Rising Sun", 那麽, 歌曲的名字應該是 "THE HOUSE OF AMAZING GRACE" !
Amazing Grace - Blind Boys Of Alabama - 1950 version
1. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now I'm found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
2. T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.
3. Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.
4. The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.
5. When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.
6. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now I'm found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
