"Where is my Vietnam?
一首振振有辭的歌曲, 表達對國家動盪, 被外敵侵略, 呼籲人們團結抗敵, 這位音樂家卻被政府鎮壓, 以政治迫害和監禁。
2012年, 中國的石油鑽探平台正式駐紮在越南的東海岸, Spratly Island 南沙群島附近, 這是中越兩國多次對峙的最後一次, 中越雙方都聲稱這些偏遠的島嶼是擁有主權, 事件引發在越南首都 Hanoi 河內大規模抗議活動, 人們走上街頭, 要求政府對中國的侵略做出回應; 然而, 越南政府卻以武力驅散與鎮壓示威群眾。
Việt Khang 越康, 時年三十四歲, 住在越南南部小城市 Mỹ Tho 美萩, 遠離嚴重的動亂地區。在網上論壇和 YouTube 視頻獲知有關示威活動被鎮壓的消息之後, 馬上完成兩首熱血憤慨的歌曲, 在網上平台發表以譴責政府, 並號召民眾繼續抗議, 既反對强国的侵略, 亦反對越南政府領導人的不作為, 其中一首:
"男女老幼, 舉起拳頭, 對抗侵略者與背叛越南的懦夫!"
幾週後, Việt Khang 越康被指煽動和宣傳反越南社會主義共和國, 歌曲被禁之外亦被判處四年監禁, 刑滿之後要留在 "Mỹ Tho 美荻", 軟禁在家三年。在獄期間, 他的妻子提出離婚並帶著五歲的兒子離開。Việt Khang 越康出獄後, 無家可歸, 生活潦倒, 只可在母親的家接受軟禁, 不許出外。儘管如此, 他並不後悔, 並聲稱 ｢我說的是真話, 這就是黨害怕我的原因, 他們内心很清楚, 知道我講的是實話｣。至今, 中越邊界的爭端仍未解決!
