Sinéad O'Connor (1966-2023)
學業仍沒完成, 没有得父親同意, 離開寄宿學校, 前往都柏林 Dublin, 先在當地街頭, 以賣唱為生; 及後, 再轉至不同酒吧獻藝, 又任職 "Western Union 西聯" 的電報滙款, 附送的電話歌唱傳訉服務工作。
反 叛 個 性
1984 年, 加入樂隊 "Ton Ton Macoute" 在都柏林 Dublin 四出獻藝, 期間, Sinéad 被兩位唱片業界人士注意並邀她簽約, 分別是倫敦兩間小型唱片公司 "Ensign" 和 "Chysalis Records"。
簽約後, 公司希望她迎合潮流, 以一頭長髮披肩, 短裙長靴, 配合其青春少女形像; 但是她卻給唱片公司另一"驚喜", 二話不說, 跑進理髮店, 出來時已把頭剃光了。她直言, 跟不少女性一樣, 在没有安全感中成長, 所以, 要保護自己, 唯有盡量失去吸引力。
"HEROINE"
1986年, Sinéad O'Connor 為唱片公司 Ensign Records 錄音的第一首歌曲, 與樂隊 U2 的結他手 "Edge" David Howell Evans 合作撰詞編曲, 為一齣英法兩語的電影 "CAPTIVE" 作挿曲; 及後再由她個人的單曲唱片發行。

1986年, Chysalis Records 公司亦給她錄製個人的首張專輯; 當年祗有二十歲的 Sinéad 正在懷孕, 首任丈夫是錄音樂隊的鼓手 John Reynolds, 及後生下兒子 Jake。
