"Saturday Night Live"
1990 - 五月, Sinéad O'Connor 首次參加電視節目 "Saturday Night Live" 演出, 由於主持人 Andrew Dice Clay 講了一個蔑视女同性戀的笑話"脫口秀", 引起同場演出的女歌手 Nora Dunn 和 Sinéad 反感, 兩人齊杯葛這次演出。
Frank Sinatra
1990 - 八月, New Jersey 新澤西州一次巡迴演出前, 而該洲傳統在盛會開始時, 主辦方必會奏出美國 "The Star-Spangled Banner 星條旗" 國歌。她是早已知道此事實, 臨場卻拒絕演出, 她聲稱: "在我的音樂會當中, 是不能接受奏出任何國歌, 包括我自己的國家在內, 因為這類樂曲與流行音樂扯不上半點關係"。
最後, 主辦方被迫妥協, 如期演出。翌曰, 她成了媒界的頭條人物; 晚上, 該演唱會再由 Frank Sinatra 演出, 他對此荒誕劇作出咆哮: "我真的要踢她的屁股!"。
幾個月後, Sinéad 在 "Esquire Magazine 紳士雜誌" 作出反擊: "我不會對一個七十八歲的老人揮拳還手的, 但我會把他幹掉 !"
"Grammy Awards 格蘭美獎"
1991 - "Nothing Compares To You" 被提名五項 "Grammy Awards 格蘭美獎"; 結果, 榮獲1990年 MTV Awards: "Best Post-Modern Video", "Best Female Video", "Video of The Year" 三個獎項; 另獲個人獎項: "Best Alternative Album"。1991年, 頒獎禮當晚, 她杯葛和拒絕出席這盛會, 以示抗議, 聲稱這些奬項極商業化, 不能以此來斷定一個歌手的成就。
1992 - 正當樂壇、媒體、樂迷大眾同聚焦她在另一次 "Saturday Night Live" 演唱會, 她演譯 Bob Marley 的一曲 "WAR", 當唱完之時, 把教宗 Pope John Paul II 的相片, 在眾目睽睽下撕掉, 並譴責天主教才是 "真正的敵人"。儘管如此, 但她仍然是一個有虔誠的天主教徒。

1993 - Sinéad O'Connor 請求公眾停止對她作針對和傷害, 在六月份一天的 "The Irish Times" 刊登公開信稱: "希望能夠擺脫父母的陰影, 重拾我的自尊, 使我能夠真正回到歌唱的工作"。
在信中, 她再次覆述受訪時, 曾透露被虐待的往事; 而哥哥 Joseph 圍護父親之外, 各人給母親暴力虐待, 對外直言不諱。她又稱 : "我們一家很糟糕, 各人互不聯絡, 全活於苦惱當中, 對我來說是極度痛苦"。

1994 - Sinéad O'Connor 的作品, 一首反影她年幼時被虐待寫照的歌曲; 自此, 她馬不停蹄為被虐兒童個案作法律申訴的代表。
