【萬世巨星 Jesus Christ Superstar】是著名音樂劇作曲家 Andrew Lloyd Webber 開始與作詞人Tim Rice 合作的第三部音樂劇, 亦是當年最成功的一部音樂劇之一。
【劇本靈感】
1965年两位作家相識時, Tim 知道 Andrew 的父親 William Lloyd Webber 是教會中的音樂家, 所以對 Andrew 自幼被父親的音樂熏陶更加了解, 而 Tim 年青時亦是在一家教會學校求學, 對聖經中耶稣的十二門徒之一 "猶大" 的故事已感興趣, 認為以此聖經故事, 两人可以共同創作一些劇目, 所以對劇本的構思, 主要將耶稣的生平寫出来, 得 Andrew 同意後就開始創作, 内容以 "猶大" 的角度來描寫耶稣基督步入『耶路撒冷』被釘十字架前7天的事迹。
【創作過程】
1969年，两人初步構思了這音樂劇目後, 向經理人提議時遭冷諷:"Bible story? Forget it!" 因此不得不放棄原来舞台劇的意念, 最後以劇中的一曲 "Superstar" 先行錄製唱片推出而大受歡迎。 翌年推出了全劇的雙唱片録音, Jesus 的角色由樂隊 Deep Purple 的 Ian Gillan 主唱, 劇中"I Don't Know How To Love Him" 一曲由 Yvonne Elliman 主唱, 令樂壇引起一番漣漪 ....
及後1974-77 期間, 她被應要當上 Eric Clapton 的 Back Vocal, 1977主唱 "Saturday Night Fever" 劇中插曲 "If I Can't Have You", 但始終她决了一些星運。
