潘秀瓊, 1935年生於澳門, 成長於馬來半島, 八歲在兒童歌唱比賽中得第二名, 十二歲踏足歌台, 十八歲正式以演唱為職業。50年代從新加坡到香港發展, 先以電影幕後代唱; 1958年演唱一曲, 由陳蝶衣作詞、姚敏作曲的《情人的眼淚》而開始成名, 被譽為低音歌后。她演唱的經典歌曲甚多; 包括了《綠島小夜曲》《梭羅河之戀》《何必旁人來說媒》 等; 《中詞西曲》亦有不少佳作!

1951年意大利愛情電影, 由名導演 Alberto Lattuada 執導; 男主角 Raf Vallone 飾演 Andrea 在一次車禍入院療傷, 照顧他的是 Silvana Mangano 飾演的修女 Anna, 她以前是個放蕩不羈, 任職夜總會的表演歌舞藝人; 這亦因為過去與 Andrea 两人之間的經歷, 最終使她决意獻身成為修女 ....
當年未成名的 "蘇菲亞羅蘭 Sophia Loren" 亦有份演出, 祗飾演閒角的女侍應, 在剎那間的鏡頭出現而己。電影與原唱的意大利文主题曲, 是由 Flo Sandon's 幕後代唱的 "T'ho Voluto Bene" 與及1958年由 Nat King Cole 演譯 "Non Dimenticar" 與及潘秀瓊的中詞西曲《等著你回來》同是樂迷歡迎的經典。另有一首同名而有别的《等著你回來》是白光演譯的版本。
