THE QUARRYMEN - Pre Beatles
在沒有决定他們的樂隊名字之前, 曾一度為紀念 Buddy Holly 與 The Crickets 而取名字 "The Beatals", 再改至 "Silver Beatles", 最後以 "THE BEATLES" 面世。

1960年他們第一次遠赴德國漢堡, 初遇 Rock n'Roll 歌手 Tony Sheridan, 與他一見如故成好友。1961年第二次再訪, 即被應邀参予他的台上演出, 及後得 Tony Sheridan 的唱片監製 Bert Kaempfert 賞識, 給予他們在 Tony Sheridan 的唱片錄音, 第一張細碟就是 "My Bonnie" 與 "The Saint", 當時他們已經用The Beatles 的隊名, 但因為英語 Beatles 的發音與德語一粗語字發音相似, 既然他們祇是唱片的 Music Backing 而己, 就改以 "The Beat Brothers" 的隊名與 Tony Sheridan 合作, 全共有8首歌曲的唱片錄音。
及後 The Beatles 開始盛名於樂壇, 以前 The Beat Brothers 的1961年錄音, 全數重新收錄在 The Beatles 的專輯唱片中, 1964年首次在德國面世, 這雖然不是他們的首張專輯, 但命名 "THE BEATLES' FIRST" 亦理所當然, 因為這是繼 The Quarrymen 之後, 他們首次以 The Beatles 所參予的歌曲錄音, 直至 1967年此專輯才在英國印製發行。
